The Adani mine continues to be a Fake Jobs Con

Greens Mining & Resources spokesperson Senator Andrew Bartlett visited Townsville today to discuss Chinese Government money financing the Adani mine.

“Labor, LNP and One Nation are lying to the people of North Queensland and now we have another example of why you can’t trust them."

“Let’s be clear: the Adani mine is a fake jobs con. It will create only a small number of permanent jobs, while putting tens of thousands of other jobs in regional Queensland at risk."

Senate inquiry ramps up pressure on Adani

The Australian Greens are going to haul each and every one of the Northern Australian Investment Facility's directors before the Senate committee until the rampant conflicts of interests surrounding their board are resolved, Greens leader Dr Richard Di Natale said.

Senate tells Turnbull to rule out public funding for Adani

"Australia must not spend public money propping up a project that more than a dozen private banks have refused to finance, especially while this government is trying to cut $1 billion from clean energy", said Senator Larissa Waters, Australian Greens Deputy Leader and spokesperson on mining.

HANDS OFF OUR ENVIRO LAWS

Abbott and Brandis want to put big mining companies above the law and stop Australians who care about the environment and climate from having a say. The Federal Court overturned the Environment Minister Greg Hunt’s approval of the Adani coal mine because the community pointed out he failed in his obligations as the Environment Minister.

Instead of fixing its mistake, the government wants to change the law so that only people who live next door to a mine can have a say.
