Local Greens MPs for Melbourne, Adam Bandt and Ellen Sandell, have welcomed the government’s decision to expand the number of supervised injecting trial sites, including in Melbourne, saying the Greens had repeatedly pushed the government to relieve the pressure on Richmond residents by expanding trial locations.
The Greens were the first political party to advocate for the supervised injecting facility trial.
Local Greens MP and Leader, Adam Bandt, has slammed Minister Stuart Robert’s decision to close the Abbotsford Centrelink this Friday.
“The decision to close one of the country’s busiest Centrelink offices in with just 24 hours notice shows how little the Liberals care about people who are struggling,” Greens Leader and Member for Melbourne Adam Bandt said today.

Greens MP Adam Bandt says he will fight any Federal funding of any East West tollway through inner Melbourne. Reports today suggest industry and the State government is gearing up to proceed with plans for the roadway.
"People in Melbourne do not want a tollway cutting through their communities. Whether it is a tunnel or above ground, the East West link will make Melbourne less liveable and create a rats nest of off-ramps in the inner city", Mr Bandt said.
