Queensland Greens launch new campaign office

Media Release
Larissa Waters 15 Dec 2011

The Queensland Greens officially opened their new state election campaign office today, in the inner Brisbane suburb of Ashgrove.

The office was opened by Larissa Waters, the first Greens Senator for Queensland, who was joined by lead candidate Adam Stone, for Mt Coot-tha, and candidate for Ashgrove Dr Sandra Bayley.

“The Queensland Greens are set to receive record support with outstanding candidates such as Adam and Sandra, and now people can drop in to get to know their future representatives,” Senator Waters said.

“There are so many pressing issues facing Queensland that need state Greens MPs to tackle, and the state Parliament needs some heart and some long-term vision.”

“The Greens vote in Queensland has steadily risen with every election, and we have a good chance of winning Mt Coot-tha,” Adam Stone said.

“Where Labor and the LNP occupy the same tired position on many issues, Queenslanders are asking for a different political voice, one that can represent their values in the 21st century.”

“When I’m out door-knocking, people say they want a stronger voice on the issues that matter to them – climate change, healthy communities and the risks posed by coal seam gas,” Dr Bayley said.

“As a local doctor and climate educator, I will stand up for the people of Ashgrove and work hard to deliver them a safe and healthy future.”
