Greens move for abortion access Senate inquiry

In the wake of Roe v Wade, the Australian Greens will today establish a Senate inquiry into abortion access in Australia. 

This inquiry will identify what can be done federally to alleviate the physical and financial barriers to accessing contraceptives, sexual and reproductive healthcare and termination services, as well as options to improve the quality and availability services, particularly in regional and remote Australia.

Greens back call for increased access to safe and compassionate abortion

The Australian Greens have proudly backed a statement by Children by Choice in support of reproductive rights and access to legal, safe and timely abortion for all Australians.

All members of the federal party room have also individually signed the pledge.

Greens launch policy: $25 million a year to provide free period products in Australian schools

On World Menstrual Hygiene Day, the Greens have announced their plan to combat period poverty in Australia by providing free period products in all public primary and secondary schools. 
 
“Menstruation products should be free in schools, period,” Greens spokesperson for women Senator Larissa Waters said.
 
“Period products are a necessity, not a luxury: it's about bloody time we make them accessible to everyone, regardless of their income.
