Incredulous, infuriating: the Tasmanian devil recovery plan set to be axed by Morrison Government

The Greens have condemned the Morrison Government for proposing changes to conservation planning decisions that would see the Tasmanian devil recovery plan scrapped.

Ley not giving devils their due

The Greens have condemned Environment Minister Sussan Ley for lifting a ban on Venture Minerals trucking ore at night along a 112km stretch of critical Tasmanian devil habitat.

Ley must act to protect Tasmanian devils

The Greens have called on Environment Minister Sussan Ley to protect Tasmanian devils from becoming mining-industry roadkill by rejecting Venture Minerals’ application to vary the EPBC approval for its Riley Creek mine in the takayna/Tarkine region.

The EDO Tasmania has launched legal action on behalf of conservationists to stop Venture Minerals from trucking ore at night along the 112kms stretch of critical Tasmanian devil habitat.

Urgent action needed to save the Tasmanian devil

Over 30 Tasmanian devils have been killed on Woolnorth Road in the state’s North West in the past two months, prompting the Greens to call for urgent federal government funding to tackle the issue. 
 
Tasmanian Greens Senator Peter Whish-Wilson said reports of decimated Tasmanian devils along Woolnorth Road are increasing.
