Morrison's China sabre rattling an attempt to hide from G7 climate embarassment

Greens Leader, Adam Bandt has described Morrison’s calls for a new cold war as a craven attempt to distract from Australia’s rogue climate stance ahead of the G7 meeting.

“This year’s G7 is about one thing - climate action. The world’s leaders are setting more ambitious targets for decarbonisation, making it clear that if you don’t have a plan to phase out coal and gas, you don’t have a plan to limit global heating to 1.5 degrees," Bandt said.

A Prime Minister that denies this country’s true history is a Prime Minister unfit to lead. 

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has today refused to acknowledge 26 January as a Day of Mourning for First Nations people of this country, instead describing the First Fleet’s arrival “as not a particularly flash day for the people on those vessels.”

First QT Question by a Greens Leader Used To Highlight Climate Crisis

Adam Bandt MP has today used his first question to the Prime Minister as Leader of the Australian Greens to highlight the government’s inaction on the climate crisis.
 
The question is the first ever asked of a sitting Prime Minister by a Greens Leader in Question Time. Mr Bandt said the Prime Minister’s response was yet more obfuscation and denial from Morrison.
 
“The Prime Minister is keen to talk about anything other than the actual cause of the climate crisis that’s led to this summer’s disastrous heatwaves, bushfires, and flooding,” Mr Bandt MP said.

Liberals game laws to deliberately harm people owed protection

Leaked cabinet documents show the extent to which the Liberals have undermined the law to deliberately cause harm to people they know are owed protection.

"Scott Morrison and his successor Peter Dutton have gamed this country's laws in order to deliberately harm refugees," Greens Immigration Spokesperson Senator Nick McKim said.

"Morrison and his department deliberately slowed applications down and put artificial barriers in the way of people whom he knew were owed protection in Australia."
