Abbott Cabinet deep in climate change delusion, spin

Australian Greens Leader Christine Milne says the government's global warming denial is on full display today, as new figures show pollution has increased since the repeal of the carbon price.

"The depth of this government's denial is alarming. They're condemning Australia to economic dislocation, to being way behind the rest of the word, and to making life harder and more dangerous for everyone in our region, as extreme fires and storms intensify," said Senator Milne.

Greens move for Intergenerational Report reality check

Greens Leader Christine Milne will this afternoon introduce the Greens' bill to require that Australia's Intergenerational Reports be conducted by the independent Parliamentary Budget Office and allow a rewrite of this year's politically laden report.

"Our thoughts are with the people of Vanuatu and all those impacted by the ferocity of Cyclone Pam. I know that all Australians' hearts go out to all the victims, their families and those who have lost their homes and livelihoods," Senator Milne said.

"There's nothing new in this report and it ignored global warming. It is pure politics and utter rubbish," Greens Leader Christine Milne said.

"It must be rewritten by the independent Parliamentary Budget Office in order to restore credibility to the Intergenerational Report process.

UK pledge to phase out coal a wake up call for blinded Liberals, Nationals & Labor

Australian Greens Leader Christine Milne says the UK cross party agreement to phase out coal and rapidly address global warming should be a wake up call for political parties in Australia, who have protected the big polluters' profits at the expense of everyday Australians for too long.

"What a tragedy that the Liberals, Nationals and Labor are so blinded by coal dust, they won't climb out of the coal mine," Greens Leader Christine Milne said.

Don’t wait for politicians: divest to transform Australia

Greens Leader Christine Milne says politics is moving too slowly away from polluting fossil fuels, urging Australians to take matters into their own hands on this Global Divestment Day.

"If you're waiting to follow the leader toward a cleaner, healthier economy, you'll be waiting an awfully long time for Tony Abbott. He's too busy knighting princes and pledging his allegiance to Old King Coal," said Senator Milne.
