The Greens will push to build 118,900 homes in Western Australia over the next twenty years as part of their plan to build one million affordable homes across Australia to tackle the housing crisis.
It is time to dismantle the rigged system that privileges investors and landlords over everybody else, said the Leader of the Australian Greens, Senator Richard Di Natale.
“Australia is facing a housing crisis. Everyone needs a home where they can feel secure, live comfortably and be part of the community. But this is becoming increasingly difficult for millions of average Australians.
Greens Treasury spokesperson, Senator Peter Whish-Wilson, is today calling on the Government to reveal the capital gains tax modelling they took to Cabinet back in February 2016 [as discovered by an ABC Freedom of Information Request].
Senator Whish-Wilson said, “The public has a right to know what Treasury found when it modelled the budget and housing affordability impact of changes to capital gains tax.
