South Australians to protest cruel live animal export today

The live animal export trade is a barbaric practice that must end despite Liberal National Government infighting over the issue, Australian Greens trade spokesperson Senator Sarah Hanson-Young said.

Turnbull's Trump-like company tax cuts dead in the water: Greens

Greens Leader Senator Richard Di Natale today said the Liberal government's failure to secure the votes needed to pass its Trump-like company tax cuts means they're dead in the water. Finance Minister Mathias Cormann confirmed in the Senate earlier this evening that they have only managed to secure 37 votes and that the legislation will not be brought before the Senate until later this year.  

"Malcolm Turnbull and his government's Trump-like company tax cuts are dead in the water," Senator Di Natale said.

The revived Trans-Pacific Partnership must be heavily scrutinised through a Senate inquiry before any legislation passes the Parliament, The Australian Greens say.

“The trickling of information about this revived TPP raises more questions than it answers, and The Greens will move to refer it to a Senate Inquiry,” Greens Trade spokesperson Senator Sarah Hanson-Young said.
