The Australian Greens say Australian business have an opportunity to help end the global warming policy farce and avoid Mr Palmer's yellow tape by supporting emissions trading.
"The Abbott government is incompetent, incapable of negotiating with the Senate, and so bloody-minded that they've agreed to push through an amended law without any consultation or any understanding of what those amendments will do," Greens Leader Christine Milne said.
"What sort of government gets so desperate that it says it will support a law without understanding what it means?
"What sort of government imposes obligations on everyone from individuals through to corporations and trusts with no idea of the costs or burden of compliance?
"The kind of government that does this is Tony Abbott's.
"Today I'm calling on Australian business to lead, have vision and call on the Abbott government to end the nonsense of axing the tax, and instead embrace the certainty provided by our current emissions trading scheme.
"This scheme is working, bringing down emissions, and it would risk-proof Australian business as the rest of the world moves to a treaty in 2015.
"I'm calling on Australian business today: get behind the future, get behind the certainty you want. Get behind emissions trading."
