The live exports industry is responsible for the brutal exploitation of animals around the world.
It is unacceptable that the Australian Government stand by while the industry continues to abuse and degrade Australian animals through the live export trade.
To the Honourable Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives, and the Honourable President and Members of the Senate in Parliament assembled. The Petition of the undersigned Australians draws to the attention of the Parliament the overwhelming public support for an immediate ban on live exports.
We call upon Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Opposition leader Tony Abbott and Agriculture Minister Joe Ludwig to support the Greens call for an immediate ban to live exports.
