Mr Howard had more than Harry Kewell's goal to get him jumping for joy yesterday, Greens Leader Bob Brown said in Hobart today.
 
"The 7% pay rise for MPs will disgust Mr Howard's 'Aussie battlers'.
 
"Mr Howard's pay rise is more than the minimum wage.  Backbenchers will get an extra $7800.
 
"I have lost faith in the Commonwealth Remuneration Tribunal.  It is neither independent nor fair from what I see.  These new pay deals for MPs should be referred to the Prime Minister's Fair Pay Commission, the same as everybody else.
 
"The Greens will move a disallowance motion for the pay rise when and if parliament sits again in August", said Senator Brown.
