When parliament resumes I will move to abolish preference deals. Under my plan, voters would be able to number the parties to their own preference ABOVE THE LINE.

As most people who read the election news will know by now, the national preference deal between us and Labor is almost 100% bedded down, with a few more details to be hammered out before we sign it off.

With the announcement of a November 24th election, we can expect the official writs will be announced this Wednesday (17th October).

 

Due to the recent changes made to by the Howard Government, you only have until 8PM on the day of the writs to ENROL TO VOTE.

Now is the time to check your enrolment. The Australian Electoral Commission has a handy online form to CHECK YOUR ENROLMENT DETAILS.

So, News Limited have decided to put up on their election website a "Vote-a-matic" feature designed to tell people which party to vote for at the upcoming election based on the way they answer a series of questions.

A great idea. Damn good.

Pity about the way they've done it.

I just did the test, and it told me to vote Democrat ;-)
